Auntie's Gluten Free Fresh Apple Crisp

Here is another fun easy recipe using our Gluten Free Vanilla Cake Mix :)

Auntie’s Gluten Free Fresh Apple Crisp

8 Large Granny Smith Apples, Peeled and sliced

1 Large Lemon, juiced

1 cup Organic Cane Sugar

4 TBSP Corn Starch

1 tsp Organic Cinnamon

1 pkg Auntie’s GF Vanilla Cake Mix

1 tsp Organic Cinnamon

8-10 TBSP Butter/Non-Dairy Butter

Preheat Oven to 400 degrees Fahrenheit

Prepare your 9 x13 with a light coating of butter/non-butter.

Peel and slice all of your apples. Sliced apples can go directly into prepared 9x13 pan. Squeeze lemon juice over apples.

In medium bowl – combine sugar, cornstarch and organic cinnamon. Whisk together until all ingredients are fully incorporated. Sprinkle mixture over sliced apples. Toss gently until all apples are well coated.

In medium bowl- Add entire package of Auntie’s GF Vanilla Cake Mix. Combine cake mix and 1 tsp cinnamon. With pastry blender or your hands mix butter/non-dairy butter to cake mix until just until you have incorporated all butter into mix and have a crumble made (It will be a loose crumb, you do not want it to be a large ball resembling cookie dough)

Sprinkle crumb over top of coated apples slices. Make sure to distribute it evenly all over the top of the apples.

Bake at 400 degrees for 35 minute. If browning too quickly turn oven down to 375. It may take an additional 5 minutes to cook the apples all the way through. Remove from oven when topping is a beautiful golden brown, and you can push a fork easily through the cooked apples.

Let cool for 20-30 minutes before serving. Top with ice cream or your favorite whipped topping.
